A Google Reader Revelation

June 29, 2011

Just wanted to share this revelation in using Google Reader that I found over on She Likes Ruffles, He Likes Truffles (via I Heart Faces).

Now, I bug puffy heart Google Reader, but rather than just seeing limited content and tons of boring extra white space in your google reader, you can install a “next” button on your toolbar that will send you to the actual website for all of your google reader items.

It’s awesome.

You get to see the nicely designed site.  All of the content actually shows up (which is a problem with certain sites and google reader sometimes).  You can comment on a post without having to click through to the site.  Amazing!  Also, I like it because you never know where you are going to go when you click next… so it’s a fun surprise.

I also found that you can add a “subscribe” button to your toolbar so that you can add a site to your reader as you browse.

Here is the tutorial over on I Heart Faces.

I saw this too! It’s like the ONLY reason I would now consider using Google Reader!
