Laughter and Love: We have arrived!!
As pictures wrapped up and we headed back to Baldwin’s to to our “Grand Entrance” into the reception, I spied our DOC, Lynnecia coming over the bridge to let us know that the DJ had not yet arrived.
D and I, happily ensconced in newly-wedded zen, were totally cool with this. No problem, we said. We’ve got our entrance music on a CD , and we can use the CD of cocktail hour music over dinner. That would give the DJ plenty of time to get there and get set up. Problem solved.
Except, as we walked up to Baldwin’s, the DJ was just arriving and assured us he would be set up in 5 minutes so that he could play the entrance music and have a mic for the speeches.
So we waited. And waited. And waited.
About 30 minutes later, my in-laws popped out to find out what the hell was taking so long, and D and I were getting seriously-annoyed-bordering-on-pissed. I wasn’t angry that the DJ was late, I was just angry that we were waiting and missing out on valuable reception time!! I wanted to see everyone and get the freaking party started!
So, finally, much later than anticipated, the music was cued up. We knew we didn’t want the wedding party come in and do dances… because I think they all would have quit the wedding party if we requested that. So, at the rehearsal, we gave them some epic options for entrance music, and they all chose the theme to Top Gun.
So, of course, we needed aviator sunglasses (that D’s Dad somehow procured the day of the wedding– clutch!).
And there was Top Gun high-fiving galore.
(What you can’t see in the above picture is that Best Man Stew is about a foot taller than MOH Jules, so he was crouch-walking into the reception.)
D and I walked in to “More than a Feeling”, which Dan has great affection for because of this:
I love our entrance pictures because we were both SO PUMPED!!!
It was time to get the party started!! Up Next: The Speeches!
